Here’s a delicious lasagna recipe that serves 6-8 people:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 jar of pasta sauce (24-28 ounces)
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 package of lasagna noodles (16 ounces)
- 1 container of ricotta cheese (15 ounces)
- 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese (2 ounces)
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until it’s browned and no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the meat. Stir everything together and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- While the meat sauce is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain the noodles and rinse them with cold water.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, and parsley.
- To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place a layer of noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture. Repeat these layers until all the ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of the meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese on top of the lasagna.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
