Lasagna Recipe

Here’s a delicious lasagna recipe that serves 6-8 people:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 jar of pasta sauce (24-28 ounces)
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 package of lasagna noodles (16 ounces)
  • 1 container of ricotta cheese (15 ounces)
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese (2 ounces)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until it’s browned and no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Add the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the meat. Stir everything together and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  4. While the meat sauce is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain the noodles and rinse them with cold water.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of the grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, and parsley.
  6. To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place a layer of noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture. Repeat these layers until all the ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of the meat sauce on top.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese on top of the lasagna.
  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
